Emergencies in infancy and childhood | English

Coughs, colds, fevers, and rashes are just as much a part of a child’s normal development as falls and minor injuries. In rare cases, however, life-threatening emergencies can occur as a result of household accidents, poisoning, allergies, or infections. These situations pose major challenges for parents.
This course explains the most common emergencies in infancy and childhood and sensible first aid measures in theory and practice. Specific emergency situations are presented and the correct behavior is practiced. This should help course participants learn to assess the situation correctly in the event of an accident or illness and act accordingly. The course is aimed at (expectant) parents and grandparents.
Dr. Miriam Wallemacq is a specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine and works at Leverkusen Hospital in the Department of Neonatal, Pediatric Emergency, and Intensive Care Medicine.
Thanks to her many years of experience in various intensive care units (Hanau Hospital, Amsterdamer Straße Children’s Hospital, Leverkusen Hospital), she has in-depth knowledge of the treatment of emergencies in infants and children.
Due to the nature of this course, we regret that we cannot allow you to bring your children with you.
Thank you for your understanding!
